Even before Meaningful Use 1 in 2010, the health and care landscape has been pressed for data interoperability, integration and then ultimately data mapping. The mapping of data from rest to a CCD, then CDA, and then C-CDA was the initial work that needed to be done, along with evolving the protocol for securely moving data with purpose to the right person at the right time for the right reasons.
All of this has evolved this landscape to include moving the data for the purpose of not just sharing data to improve the safety and health of the persons who organizations serve, but also for populations or cohorts the person fits into. For instance moving data to track a diabetes population, or hypertensive population, and even a cohort that are made up of those dependant on substances.
This data, and the movement lends itself to opportunities to report on and analyze the types of services needed in an area that an organization service. It can also be used to improve on the services that are already offered. Finally the mapping of the data can help, if an organization would like to monetize the data they have collected for research and establish better treatment mechanisms.
The Data Shepherds is very astute to the standards and proprietary data structures. The following is a short list of standards the The Data Shepherds can help your organization with. Please contact us for more information.
